Schoolhouse Observations:
1. That moment when you run into a former student. But you don’t remember her being in your class. 🤷🏽♂️ #TeacherStruggles
2. SWWNSU feels it necessary to give me a play-by-play of her day. Every meeting she has to attend. Every piece of paperwork she has to fill out. Is it bad that I don’t really care?
3. If your child is a few handfuls of months away from going to SOMEBODY’S college or university, he/she should know his/her address AND how to sign his/her name, especially on official documents.
4a. This week, I’ve found myself increasingly grateful for cooperative parents and my OWN parents.
4b. If all of my teachers EVER said that I did no work in class and wasted class time, both of my parents would not even waste their time trying to argue with teachers. And if those teachers were gracious enough to allow Lil’ Teenage John to complete assignments that he didn’t do, he wouldn’t see the light of the sun until those assignments were completed. No Boy Scout meeting. No choir rehearsal. No going out with his friends. And anything that wasn’t turned in to the teacher by the deadline? Oh, he’d just have to take the “L” and any other consequence. There’d be no further emailing or calling the school quibbling with teachers. My folks didn’t play that.
4c. As my grandma would say, “A hard head makes for a sore...” Well, y’all know the rest. 🤸🏾♂️
5. It’s the weekend!
